Search Engine Submission

After your web site has been made search engine friendly, the next step is to submit the URL to the top search engines. The process involves creating a Sitemap, a robot.txt file and then submitting the actual url to the search engines for crawling by their spiders.

Sitemaps

A Sitemap is a list of the pages on your web site. Creating and submitting a Sitemap helps make sure that search engines know about all the pages on your site, including URLs that may not be discoverable by the normal crawling process.

Robot.txt

A robots.txt file is used to help control the indexing of your site by robots. This file is used to list pages that should not be indexed and is also used to tell search engine spiders the location of your Sitemap.
